The Glass Lounge is a family-run bistro located in the heart of Retford. The bistro has recently been taken over by new management, by Claire and her daughter in law. The bistro offers a range of breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as afternoon tea and sweet treats. They have freshly made cakes available on the counter each day. Alongside food, they also offer a variety of hot and cold drinks, including a special cocktail menu from the fully licensed bar.
The bistro is extremely welcoming with an open floor plan seating area which feels spacious, an upstairs dining area and a snug with a sofa, which is the perfect spot for those cosy catch ups or discreet business meetings. The venue is available to hire for private events, including birthday parties, christenings and baby showers, with the capacity to hold plenty of guests. From 2nd August, on Friday and Saturdays, they will be opening until 7pm, serving alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, and food. Why not visit on the day of Party in The Square, Sunday 25th August, where they will be opening from 2pm till late for coffee, drinks and cake!
This idyllic bistro is the perfect place to catch up with family friends, or to stop off for your morning coffee on your way into town. They have some fabulous offers available, including Coffee & Cake for just £5.50. There is also a loyalty scheme available where after purchasing 6 coffees, you get your 7th free. Best sellers at the bistro include the carrot and almond cake. The lunchtime wraps and paninis are also exceptionally popular. In the summer months, relax in the sunshine in the outdoor seating area. Your furry friends are also welcome as they are dog friendly, with treats available for them. The bistro also caters to vegan and gluten free dietary requirements.

The bistro is open Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm, and Saturday 9am – 4pm. The new opening times from 2nd August will be Friday/Saturday 9am – 7pm and Sunday 9am – 12pm.
