Tackling Business Crime

North Notts Business Crime Reduction Partnership (NNBCRP) was formed in June 2019 by North Notts BID and is supported by partners including the Council and Police.

NNBCRP (North Notts Business Crime Reduction Partnership)

The objective of the partnership is to help to reduce crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in Bassetlaw. Projects and areas we have focused on include:

  • DISC – DISC is a crime reporting app to help identify local offenders by the sharing of images which are circulated to members in our town centres. This helps reduce business crime. If you are a BID Member who would like to sign up, please contact us at info@northnottsbid.co.uk. Find out more by clicking HERE.
  • CCTV – The BID has installed 65 CCTV cameras with ANPR on the industrial estates throughout Bassetlaw. These cameras act as deterrents to thieves and provide support when trying to track criminals after any incidents. The cameras are maintained 24/7.
  • Best Bar None – North Notts BID is delighted to have recently launched the Best Bar None scheme in the North Notts area. This Home Office backed initiative is free to BID and voluntary members, allowing alcohol licensed venues to demonstrate a commitment to customer wellbeing. Find out more by clicking HERE.
  • Radios – We have supplied over 125 radios to BID members that are ShopWatch and PubWatch businesses in Retford & Worksop. The use of radios offers immediate support at times in need when a crime may have been committed, warning other businesses.
  • Truckpol – Our Truckpol membership provides businesses operating within the supply chain access to information and intelligence in real-time about current risks and threats to safety freight.
  • SmartWater – We introduced SmartWater asset marking solution to 28 businesses in the Hallcroft Estate in Retford, Sandy Lane in Worksop, and Brunel Close in Harworth. This project will continue to be rolled out to the remaining industrial estates. Find out more by clicking HERE.
  • Night Angels – This project was introduced in Retford & Worksop town centres to support the Night Time Economy and our hospitality industry, to help make our towns feel safer and more welcoming places to visit. The Night Angels are easily identifiable in purple tabards.
  • WalkSafe – A personal safety app which has been launched by the BID to help people make safe journeys across the Bassetlaw district. The app is free to download and can be used by anyone, including employees, shoppers, students and the general public. The app is made up of four main features, with live tracking capabilities.
