Worksop Christmas Lights 2024 Highlights

A fabulous time was had by all at the scaled down Worksop Christmas Lights event that took place on Wednesday 27th November!

Despite the unfortunate decision that had to be made to reschedule the event from Saturday 24th due to the extreme weather conditions caused by Storm Bert, the event was still a huge success. The scaled down event took place from 3pm – 6pm, packed with street entertainment, food & drink vendors, market stalls, stage entertainment, carols, fairground rides and more!

Street food vendors included local favourites such as Madame Crêpe, 49 Beans Coffee Company, The German Sausage, Manfredi Ice-cream and XXL BBQ. There were plenty of Christmas goodies to be had, including Christmas wreaths, home decorations, bath bombs and much more from local stall holders, including Magenta Trends and Funky Soaps.

Performances on the main stage included local artists Daisy Brammall and Mia Espin, who entertained the crowds singing some Christmas hits. A civic ceremony also took place, where the crowds sung along to classic Christmas carols accompanied by Worksop Miner’s Welfare Brass Band.

The Christmas lights were switched on at 6pm by Santa and his little helper, Iris Sharp, the winner of Worksop’s Got Talent 2024. The streets were beautifully illuminated, including the Town Hall and the large Christmas tree on The Market Square. The switch on was accompanied by a wonderful fireworks display, which was a real crowd entertainer.
