In light of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, on Friday 15th August, North Notts BID was delighted to hold a commemorative event in Worksop to pay tribute to all those who served in the Far East and the Pacific.
This special event commemorated the amazing achievements of our local veterans, and was open to the public from 1:30pm – 3:00pm at Worksop Market Square. The event consisted of speeches, flag raising and Jessica Mary Brett performed songs from the 1940’s. Attendees also enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Betty’s of Worksop, and could find out more about local veterans stories via storyboards placed around the square.
