A great day was had at the Retford Christmas Market & Lights Switch On which took place on Sunday 24th November 2024!
The unfortunate decision had to be made to scale the event down due to the extreme weather conditions from Storm Bert. This meant the outdoor market and stage entertainment had to be cancelled, but the indoor craft market inside the Town Hall still took place, alongside some outdoor food vendors, live entertainment and the lights switch on.
Local food vendors that attended included Outlaw Cookie Club, Flour Brew, The Burger House and others.
A fabulous craft market was held inside of the Town Hall, with plenty of Christmas gifts and crafts to be had from local creators. Students from The Elizabethan Academy also attended, selling personalised giftware. We were also joined by local artist Jessica Mary Brett, who sung some fabulous Christmas classics.
The gorgeous lights were turned on at 5pm following on from a short civic element, illuminating the Town Hall and the Christmas tree on the square.
