Retford Christmas 2022 festivities took place on Sunday, November 27th. The day was full of food & drink stalls, gifting stalls, lots of entertainment and Santa turning the lights on with his little helper.

This year’s light switch on event was a huge success with a record amount of stalls attending this year.  Stallholders offered a wide range of food and drink options, gifting and tombola stands.  A funfair and a visit to Santa in his grotto kept the children entertained, with a competition to be Santa’s little helper, assisting with turning on the Christmas lights at the end of the night.

There were some fantastic performances on the night, including local band, The Sods, alongside Jo Jingles, the Panto Dame and Jessica Mary Brett. At 5pm Santa’s little helper switched on the beautiful lights that lit up the town and the Christmas tree in front of the town hall.  The finale was a performance by the amazing Slyde who took to stage, roaring out ‘It’s Christmas!’ The band continued to play into the evening, keeping the large crowd entertained and in the festive spirit.
