North Notts Best Bar None Awards 2026 Highlights

The North Notts Best Bar None Awards 2026 brought together the very best of Bassetlaw’s night-time economy for an evening of celebration, recognition, and community spirit.

Hosted by North Notts BID on Wednesday 22nd April, the event marked the third year of the Best Bar None scheme in the area, an initiative that champions responsible management and high standards across licensed venues. Backed nationally, Best Bar None works to create safer, more welcoming town centres by recognising venues that excel in areas such as customer safety, staff training, operational procedures, and partnership working with local authorities and police.

Over the past year, venues across Bassetlaw have worked hard to achieve their Best Bar None accreditation for 2025/26. The awards evening was an opportunity to celebrate those efforts, with accredited venues receiving their certificates and a number of standout businesses and individuals recognised with special awards.

This year’s winners were:

• People’s Choice Award – Zac Pyper, Romans Rest
• Best Leisure Venue – Tiger’s Den
• Best Hotel – The Elms Hotel, Retford
• Best Independent Venue – Idle Valley Tap
• Best Restaurant – The Bull & Lobster
• Best Chain – Rondo Lounge
• Best Bar/Pub – Liquorice Gardens Events
• Judges’ Choice Award – The Mallard
• Outstanding Contribution Award – Paul Hill, The Brindley Bar & Restaurant
• Best Bar None Champion – The Elms Hotel, Retford

The event was proudly hosted at North Notts Community Arena, with a drinks reception kindly supported by HB Clark. The delicious food was catered by the team at Pheasantry Brewery Weddings & Events.

Awards were presented by a range of distinguished guests, including Angela Kandola BEM, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire, Jo White MP for Bassetlaw, Inspector Rob Harrison of Nottinghamshire Police, and Iwona Kossek, Director of People and Project at Six Till Six.

The evening highlighted not only the quality and diversity of Bassetlaw’s hospitality sector, but also the strong partnerships in place to ensure the area remains a safe, vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.

North Notts BID would like to congratulate all accredited venues and winners, and thank everyone who contributed to making the event such a success. We look forward to building on this momentum in the year ahead. To view the full album of photos from the event, please CLICK HERE.
