Last week, North Notts BID proudly supported National Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) Week (16th–22nd March), using the opportunity to highlight the importance of partnership working in keeping our business communities safe.
Throughout the week, we used our social media channels to raise awareness of key elements of the North Notts BCRP scheme. This included promoting tools and initiatives designed to support businesses and improve safety, such as the WalkSafe App, our expanding CCTV coverage across industrial estates, the Ask for Angela scheme, and the vital work of our Night Angels.
Alongside our online activity, we were out on the ground engaging directly with businesses across the district.
Worksop & Retford Business Visits – Tuesday 17th March
In partnership with Nottinghamshire Police and Bassetlaw District Council’s ASB team, we visited high street businesses in Worksop and Retford. These visits were a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and provide direct support to our local business community.
Our objectives during the day were to:
Raise awareness of how to report crime and anti-social behaviour
Encourage better intelligence sharing between businesses and the police
Promote the benefits of the BCRP scheme
Industrial Estate Pop-Ups – Thursday 19th March
Later in the week, we hosted two pop-up engagement sessions on industrial estates in Harworth and Tuxford. Working again alongside Nottinghamshire Police and Bassetlaw District Council’s ASB team, we connected with a wide range of businesses to share information and offer support.
Throughout the day we:
Highlighted the correct routes for reporting crime and anti-social behaviour
Encouraged consistent intelligence sharing between businesses and the police
Promoted the benefits of the BID’s BCRP scheme, including CCTV, SmartWater, and the DISC system
These activities reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a safer, more connected business environment across North Nottinghamshire. By working collaboratively with our partners and local businesses, we can continue to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour effectively.
