Based in Misterton, Nottinghamshire Universal Coatings (UK) was established in 2007 and has since built up an impressive portfolio of clients and projects, from the infrastructure, construction, engineering, and petrochemicals sectors. During this time the business has been at the forefront of bringing innovative solutions to the UK market.
Over the years Universal Coatings have formed an impressive reputation through providing quality services with exceptional efficiency and professionalism. The vast experience and can-do attitude are what gives Universal Coatings their well-respected reputation. They’re regularly considered as the go-to company.
This is displayed in their most recent project, which was restoring Big Ben to its former glory. Being commissioned to work on a world-renowned structure is a true homage to the company’s skill level and reputation.
The initial restoration project involved removing the decay and deterioration of the belfry and clock faces, and then applying a colour match to the mechanism. The job was not for those scared of heights, as the team was working from up to 96 metres in the sky!
After an impressive performance on the clock and bell tower, their efforts moved onto restoring the cast iron roof. After removal of tiles, they were transported to the Misterton facility for cleaning, repairs, and coating before being returned and re-installed onto Big Ben.
Keep up to date with Universal Coatings!
