The Pilgrim Fathers is a cosy pub located in Scrooby, on the outskirts of Bassetlaw. The pub is located just off Great North Road and is part of the Harper Inns, a group of beautiful country pubs in country locations serving great modern British cuisine owned by Joe Harper. The pub was taken over by the Harper Inns group in October 2023 and has grown from strength to strength ever since. The beautiful, listed building which the pub is situated in is over 200 years old, with lots of history behind it. The pub is dog friendly, has a play area and offers free parking.
The pub has recently launched a brand-new Autumnal menu, which has already proved to be a huge success. Main favourites include pub classics such as Beer Battered Haddock & Chips, Proper Steak Pie, and the Pulled Lamb Shoulder Shepherds Pie. The menu consists of delicious starters, seasonal mains, pub classics, burgers, grilled items and sides. Food is available during the pub’s opening times of 12pm – 8pm through from Monday – Saturday and 12pm – 7pm on Sundays. They also have a separate Sunday Dinner menu. If you fancy something a bit lighter, they also offer a Light Lunch menu, consisting of smaller sized Pub Classic dishes and Proper Sandwiches. The Pilgrim Fathers at Scrooby is also proud to hold a range of activities and events. On the third Thursday of every month, they host ‘Bike Nights’ through from May – September. This event takes place from 5pm, with free parking and entry available. Enjoy live music on these evenings from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in the outdoor Smoke House area. You can also enjoy a Quiz Night every Tuesday from 8pm. Their large outdoor area also makes the great space for a party, with a grand marquee being able to hold up to 80 people. They host private events, such as birthday parties, weddings, christenings, baby showers and more. The Smoke Shack outside serves burgers through the summer months and caters for these private events.
North Notts BID is proud to have awarded The Pilgrim Fathers with their Best Bar None accreditation at the North Notts Best Bar None Awards back in April this year. They passed their accreditation assessment with flying colours and are now an accredited venue for the year 2024/25.
This Christmas, The Pilgrim Fathers are holding a Festive Fun Day on Saturday 13th December from 11am. This event is free entry for all. Meet Santa and his elves, enjoy festive food from the Smoke Shack, enjoy live music and so much more. Their new Christmas Festive menu will also be launching on 1st December, with some delicious festive specials. These included a Garli & Lime Crab Cake stater, a Classic Turkey Dinner and Mulled Plum & Apple Crumble for dessert. They are taking bookings now for Christmas dinners and parties within the marquee.
