The Mucky Duck is a charming restaurant & bar tucked away in the beautiful countryside of Drakeholes. The restaurant opened in 2019, originally as a breakfast & brunch spot, but has since expanded due to success. The Mucky Duck now offers a range of delicious lunch, afternoon tea and dinner options. The family-owned pub is run by a close-knit team who are all local, providing excellent customer service, food & drink.
Alongside the Duck Classics menu, the restaurant offers seasonal menus, working with fresh and seasonal ingredients all year round. The new Summer Menu is due to launch very soon, including a summer fruit cheesecake. Popular dishes include the Plate of Free-Range Pork, Fish & Chips and the range of Steaks available. Enjoy a delicious Sunday Roast on Sundays, available from 12pm onwards, closing at 7pm. The Mucky Duck’s Head Chef, Billy Frost, recently achieved 2 rosettes which were awarded for culinary excellence. Billy also previously competed on ‘MasterChef: The Professionals’ and has plenty of previous culinary experience. The restaurant has also recently been nominated for Best Hospitality by the North Notts Business Awards.
The restaurant is available to be hired out for functions, including weddings, christenings, birthdays etc. Although there is no specific function room, there are different areas within the restaurant with different atmospheres to be used for said events. For smaller and intimate events, they will work closely with the guests on the food They also host Steak Night every Thursday, Chef Tasting Night and occasional Steak & Lobster Nights one a month, priced at £85 for two people.
Head Chef Billy Frost is attending this year’s North Notts Food Fest as one of the headlining chefs. He will be performing a live demo on the day, cooking up a chicken dish and the plate of pork from the 2 rosette A La Carte menu at The Mucky Duck.
