Child First Day Nursery is a welcoming nursery providing care for children from three months to five years. They are located in the heart of the beautiful Welbeck estate, surrounded by expansive gardens and outdoor space. In 2015, the decision was made to renovate the derelict chicken shed into the gorgeous nursery that now stands. They opened in 2017 after a long renovation project. As their ethos stands, finding them is a magical adventure.
Child First offers a unique environment, where the children get to depict what happens and what topics are covered. Each day the children are exposed to a range of educational and cultural experiences, including gardening, baking, arts & crafts and much more! There are a range of session times:
AM Session – 7:30am – 1pm
PM Session – 1pm – 6pm
School Day – 8am – 3:30pm
Full Day – 8am – 6pm
They pride themselves on being an outdoor nursery with indoor space, with the impressive outdoor area being the vocal point offering a range of outdoor activities. These include gardening, collecting chicken eggs, outdoor play, walks around the gorgeous grounds of the estate and growing vegetables which the chef will then use. The on-site chef works full-time to provide the children with home cooked, fresh meals every day. This covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks during the day. The chef is also mindful of dietary requirements and cooks to suit these, highlighting the importance of a child’s diet.
This nursery is all about the children and their development, offering exceptional support to them and their families. Parents can attend settling in sessions, staying with their child for an hour session, which is key to allow the child to be comforted and gives the parent peace of mind. The eclectic mix of staff is a fantastic asset to the team, in terms of age and energy levels which compliments the different range of personalities of the children. The staff are also all pediatric first aid trained.
