Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre is a modern, multi-purpose community centre. The building was originally a village hall from the 1960’s when it was first established. In 2002, the premises received lottery and other funding which enabled them to expand and add new space in the property, including an amenity hall. They are a registered charity who are always keen and on the look out for new funding. The building is owned by the Parish council which is also the custodian trustee and plays a vital role in the running of the establishment. The centre is run by a very small team of local individuals, Jo, Ash and Rachael, who all go above and beyond to deliver all activities and events of a high standard.
The Civic Centre is proving to be a popular location for families and a hidden gem with so many uses and opportunities. There are three main rooms to the building, including the:
Carlton Suite – Can accommodate up to 250 people and used for a range of functions, including sports activities, wedding receptions, parties, training sessions and more. The room has a private bar and a larger, well equipped kitchen space
Lindrick Suite – This is the slightly smaller function room, which can accommodate up to 100 people. This room has a private bar and functional kitchen area
Goulding Suite – This room is predominantly used as a conference room, for meetings and training courses

These function rooms can be hired for private events on an hourly or daily rate. They also have a regular user rate in place, where the more often you hire the space, the rates will come down for being a loyal user. This includes private hire for personal events, like parties and christenings, and for business use, to hold courses, training and more. Alongside these rooms are several exclusive hire rooms, which are currently occupied by:

Courtney Watkinson School of Dance – A fun and friendly Dance school for all ages and abilities
They have a vast calendar of events and activities throughout the week, including Yoga, Zumba classes, Carlton Bowls, Private Ballroom Lessons and so much more! The full list of events can be found on their website. They are also holding their ever-popular annual Family Fun Day on Saturday 19th July. This event makes the perfect day out for families, which is completely free to attend which a range of activities free to enjoy throughout the day, including arts & crafts, bouncy castles, karaoke and so much more! This event is funded by the Parish Council. There will be an extensive craft market in the main hall, with food and drink available to buy – the only thing you will need to pay for at the event. There will also be lots of outdoor activities for the kids to enjoy, and an ice cream van to keep you fuelled!
Other annual entertainment includes a Christmas market, with over 50 stalls in attendance, an RAF band performance in October, a kids Halloween party, a kids Christmas party and more, all of which you can find out more about on their website.
