North Notts BID is delighted to launch North Notts in Bloom – a scheme to ensure that our area is clean and welcoming and a nicer place to work, live or visit.
Retford in Bloom has run for the last three years in the town centre, but this year North Notts BID is expanding the scheme and developing an 'in bloom' package for the whole of the North Notts area.
The initial pilot took place in Retford, working in partnership with Retford Business Forum and the Retford Civic Society, with sponsorship from Icon Aerospace Technology and Traffic Labour Supplies Ltd. Working with new partners, Acer Landscapes, we aim to make our towns look colourful, vibrant and well-presented.
The Retford scheme includes:
- Hanging baskets packed with quality plants.
- Weekly watering.
- Installation of brackets if required.
- St George's Flag.
- Union Flag.
- Christmas trees with lights.
The North Notts BID sponsorship reduces the full price for the bloom pack from £225 +VAT to £125 +VAT, making a saving of £100 per package purchased.
To access this BID Member Deal for Retford, fill out the ‘North Notts in Bloom order form’ then post or email the form to Acer Landscapes, contact details are stated at the bottom of the form.
If you haven't received a form then download the 'North Notts in Bloom order form' from our downloads page within the BID Members' Area ~ https://bit.ly/2GLDJjB
In Worksop North Notts BID funded 50 brackets and quality flower baskets to be installed, hung and maintained throughout the high street at no extra costs to the businesses; they will hang throughout summer.
The BID has worked with Harworth and Tuxford to tailor the 'in bloom' packages to meet their towns individual needs, each town was given funds to enhance their existing flower arrangements.
The BID also plans to look at how we can improve the entrances and approaches to the industrial areas.
North Notts BID Members are able to access our FREE Emergency First Aid at Work, 1-day course which is HSE compliant.
Once completed you will be a qualified First Aider and will receive a 3-year certification.
Emergency First Aid at Work is aimed at low-to-medium risk environments or where Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines indicate staff should hold a certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work; the HSE recommends that if you work in a company with 5 -50 workers, there should be at least one person trained in first aid.
To put one employee through this course it can cost from £90+ VAT to £135 + VAT. The BID are offering BID Members to send one employee on the course FREE OF CHARGE.
For course date announcements make sure to add our email (info@northnottsbid.co.uk) as a contact, to ensure you receive the information on the latest courses and BID Member Deals.
Alternatively, visit our 'Latest News' page on our website for more course information - https://bit.ly/2PFEXRW
If your company needs more than one employee training in any of the First Aid courses, please look at our exclusive offers on various types of First Aid Courses. For more information see 'First Aid Training Discount Offer' on the 'BID Member Deals' page on our website.
Our Free Emergency First Aid at Work workshops have been extremely popular and spaces have been limited to one person per BID member.
We have received numerous requests from our members wanting to book two or more members of their staff onto these free one day workshops, but unfortunately due to high demand and limited numbers we haven’t been able to accommodate their requests. It has identified that there is a high demand for BID members needing first aid training for multiple members of staff.
With this in mind we have managed to negotiate discounted rates, exclusively to BID members, on a variety of first aid courses with local training provider ‘How to Save a Life’. If there are a minimum of 6 people from one organisation then they can deliver the courses in your own business premises.
For those wanting only a couple of places, it is possible to join forces with another BID member organisation to ensure that you can access the best discounts. The only proviso is that the course is held in one premises and is organised by one company.
If your company needs 6 - 12 employees training in First Aid and you would like to take up this BID Member offer then contact the BID Team, please state your BID Reference and 'First Aid Training offer' when enquiring.
Head to 'Downloads' within the Members Area to download the discounted price list and the list showing the savings you would make by taking up this BID Member offer rather than going direct to the training provider.

- Town Centre encrypted radio system implemented into Retford and Worksop. Assiting the businesses and the police to communicate to help reduce criminal and anti-social activity.
- Crime Partnership seminars: Various topics are covered, it is a chance for businesses to come together and hear from experts within the field.
- Cyber Fraud awareness, working with the Notts Police Cyber Fraud team to distribute and alert businesses of warnings, new knowledge and training courses.

Our BID Ambassadors attend Pub Watch and Shop Watch meetings in Worksop and Retford to gather and feed in information which is then shared with BID Members, Nottinghamshire Police, Bassetlaw District Council, Neighbourhood Watchand any other relevant partners.
In addition to greater communication between businesses, the council and police, the crime partnership delivers greater protection to businesses and their employees, particularly those working alone or in the evening.
