North Notts BID has been announced as one of only 19 Business Improvements Districts in the UK to receive accreditation from British BID’s.The accreditation is the latest success story for North Notts BID, which provides support, projects and initiatives for BID members across the North Nottinghamshire region.

The BID was assessed by the National BID Advisory Board Accreditation Group on a wide variety of areas, including governance, management and operations, financial performance and communication with member organisations.

With the accreditation, North Notts BID joins the likes of Nottingham, Swansea and Milton Keynes in being recognised as an industry leader, with robust and thorough industry practices in place.

The accreditation also provides reassurance to levy payers that the BID has effective governance in place and is accountable, transparent and trustworthy, giving confidence that their levy is in safe hands.

Sally Gillborn, chief executive of North Notts BID, said: “We’re delighted with this accreditation, which puts North Notts BID in distinguished company.

“As the UK’s first area-wide, place-shaping BID, we were venturing into the unknown when we first started out, so to receive this accreditation really validates the great work done by the BID team, our members and everyone that has supported our work.”

Chris Turner, CEO of British BIDs, said: “Along with the other BIDs that were assessed, North Notts BID went through a detailed process and we’re very pleased to say that they are now an accredited member.

“BIDs do great work across their towns, cities and regions, and we as an organisation are delighted to recognise those that put in the hard work to ensure that their BID is well managed and run.”
