LOCAL BUSINESS SUPPORTS SCHOOL ON WORLD BOOK DAY

A local business based in Worksop has donated funds to a neighboring primary school for World Book Day to enable new books to be purchased ahead of the return to school on March 8th.

Carlton Forest Group, a family-owned business, made the donation to Ramsden Primary School in Carlton-in-Lindrick, just a short distance from the company headquarters as the crow flies.

“Reading is such an important part of children’s education and under more normal circumstances a little bit of fun and fanfare is made at schools for World Book Day,” said Mark Pepper, CEO, Carlton Forest Group. “This year, with the children still home schooling, we decided to make a donation to our local school so that the children can look forward to enjoying some new books in the weeks ahead as they settle back into the school environment.”

World Book Day was first launched in 1995 by UNESCO to celebrate books and authors and encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading.

“Reading is a great skill to acquire at a young age and it can unlock so much in terms of learning, relaxing and exploring the world,” said Mark. “We are delighted to support one local school in its quest to evoke a love of reading in its students and we hope they enjoy the new books immensely.”

Catherine Garrett, School Business Manager at Ramsden Primary School commented; “This is a welcome donation from the team at Carlton Forest Group and we shall put it to very good use. It’s great to have the support of local businesses and our children will enjoy the books that we are able to buy for them. Our sincere thanks to everyone at Carlton Forest Group.”
